Last week Ilkley and Ben Rhydding Councillors, Andrew Loy and David Nunns, visited Bradford Council's Stocksbridge Depot in Keighley. Their visit comes before the imminent closure of the Golden Butts Road Depot in Ilkley. The closure of the site will mean that council workers including the Parks and Street Cleansing operatives will have to travel from a depot in Keighley.
Speaking about their visit, Cllr Loy said:
"It was great to visit the council’s Stockbridge Depot in Keighley today to discuss the winter gritting and gully cleansing operations, especially the impact of the closure of the Golden Butts Road Depot in Ilkley, which is currently used as a grit store - another consequence of the terrible decision to close and sell off the HWRC site.
"A huge thanks to Paul and his team who do a great job, often in very difficult conditions."
