We were proud to welcome David Cameron to the constituency in March, his first visit here since entering 10 Downing Street.   “Several Association members challenged me to demonstrate that the Cabinet is not over-focussed on the South-East,” Kris Hopkins said.  “I carried this message directly to the Prime Minister’s desk and, three weeks later, received a phone call to say he wanted to come to Keighley deliver his keynote speech on the economy.”   Kris said it was important to remember that, whilst the hard work to clear up Labour’s economic mess continues apace, very positive results are already being delivered. “The budget deficit has been cut by a third, immigration levels have fallen by a third, crime has fallen despite a decrease in resources and more than a million private sector jobs have been created,” he said.  “There are many good news stories that we must get out there and campaign on.”
